Greek Oliver oil dressing

Last week, I had a very healthy lunch, all of them are just pepper, cucumber, and celely.

However, the veg are very dry, I need some dressing. Usually, I will add some vinger, but this time I have something from marks and spencer. That's Greek olive oil dressing with lemon juice & mint.

They coming from:

sunflower oil, white wine vinegar, lemon juice, sugar, dijon mustard, garlic, salt, oregano, mint, parsley, cracked black pepper.

Then I bought some dijon mustard from Tesco. I think I can make my own dressing by using some garlic, lemon juice, and oliver oil.

I like eating steak, but not all the time. The only good shop I know for good steak are:

There was a time when eating a burger was either a guilty pleasure or something you did late at night after a skinful.

After all, who would willingly bite into a burger served in grim cafes with formica-topped tables without a strong drink inside them?

Wimpy was eclipsed in the 1970s by the arrival of the American giants McDonald’s and Burger King. But while their products were marginally more palatable, they were arguably no better for you.

These days a new breed of burger joint is boasting patties made with meat from animals “naturally reared, grass fed and free range”.

Beef isn’t just beef, it’s “100 per cent beef” that has either been “hung” or “aged”.

The range of choice has ?increased, too. You can get burgers made of barn-reared chicken, chorizo sausage, or even citrus marinated halloumi.

Sides will include “hand-cut” chips rather than the ubiquitous fries. Salads may well feature vine ripened ?tomatoes and roasted red peppers. To drink, there’s the choice of smoothies and imported beers.

Even Gordon Ramsay’s Boxwood Caf??, in Knightsbridge, does a veal and foie gras burger with parmesan, cos lettuce and chips for a whopping ??22.50.

McDonald’s may have invested ?140 million in a modernisation drive this year, to launch new colour schemes and furniture ?including “Big Brother” style chairs. Still, the hottest names for gourmet-style burgers in London are Hach??, Hamburger Union, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Fine Burger Company and Ultimate Burger.

Berry Casey, managing ?director of Hach?? in Camden, says his establishment is based on the burger concept, but run along the lines of a restaurant.

“The burger is just like any other food,” he says. “It’s there to be enjoyed. Customers should be able to sit down and eat the burger in their own time.

“In most burger joints, the moment queues start building up, you get harassed-looking staff behind the counter getting all robotic, shouting at their colleagues and smiling even less.”

At Hach??, the burger patty is made from 100 per cent Aberdeen Angus beef from the same London butcher that supplies the Queen. It is served in a 5in ciabatta bun.

Its most popular burger is the Steak Canadian, which comes with sweet-cure bacon and mature cheddar cheese, costing ?7.95.

At Hamburger Union, which has four branches in and around Central London, not only do the gourmet-style burgers come in “single” and “double size”, each one of its ten or so burgers comes ?“protein style”, which means there is no bun. Instead, the burger is served between lettuce leaves.

“Public tastes are much more discerning now,” says Hamburger Union’s proprietor, Hugh Fowler. “With ?concerns over the BSE and foot-and-mouth outbreaks of recent years, people want to know where the beef comes from. But they also want greater choice, quality ingredients and more imaginative flavours in burgers.”

The bun for Hamburger Union’s burgers, which start at ?3.95, is made by Portuguese bakers while the menu declares that the chips are “proper chips, never frozen”.

Casey states that the burger is such a simple and wholesome food concept that it will always be popular.

“Burgers are now a part of the staple British diet, but what’s important is that the ingredients are healthy and made from top-end produce. This is why places like mine and others are proving so popular in London.”

If a PM keeps telling us lies, that it would be two situations:

1. like the hungrary PM, people trun out the street for a riot.

Fed up with spending half an hour or so each day in a packed and stuffy Tube carriage with your nose inches from someone’s armpit? Then commuting by boat could be the thing for you.

The craft that ply the Thames are no Greek island-hopping rust-buckets. Instead, you travel to work courtesy of a flotilla of privately owned, designer-draped pleasure boats with names such as Hurricane, Sun, Moon and The Viscount ? boats so swish that people hire them by the hour.

They’re not slow either ? a journey from the Savoy Pier (between Temple and Embankment) to Canary Wharf takes 23 minutes in Thames Clippers’ 32mph flagship, Hurricane, while the same route via the Underground takes 19 minutes.

And who wouldn’t sacrifice four minutes for the privilege of arriving in a machine such as Hurricane, adorned with Damien Hirst decoration? It runs from central London to Canary Wharf and on to Woolwich on weekday evenings at peak hours.

During busy Thames Clipper periods, you’ll be met by the Sun and Moon clippers. At 32 metres long, they are the big daddies of the fleet, and capable of carrying 138 passengers. They run from the Savoy Pier to Canary Wharf and Woolwich.

Putney-dwellers can try Thames Executive Charters’ John Harriot, a 24-seater with a mahogany-lined saloon which runs from Putney to Blackfriars via Chelsea Harbour, Cadogan Pier and Embankment. Two other TEC boats ply the Putney route.

With Thames Clippers claiming on-time stats of 98 per cent, you have to ask: “What’s the catch?” The only restrictions are route ? if you don’t live on the river, it won’t help you ? and price. Boats don’t come under the Oyster umbrella ? although being an Oyster-holder gets you a one-third discount ? and a commute from the Savoy Pier to Canary Wharf with Thames Clippers costs ?4.85 return (?7.30 without a travelcard).

TEC has Putney-Blackfriars tickets for ?11 standard return, and Chelsea to Embankment is ?8 return.

Then there is the frequency of service ? Thames Clippers runs boats every 30 minutes (every 15 minutes between 8.30 and 9.30am) and TEC services range from 15 to 45 minutes apart.

Add the fact that you could be chugging a cappuccino on your morning journey and a beer on your return, and you quickly realise why river commuting is increasing by 50 per cent year on year.

Desert Idea: - Peach and Amaretti Semifreddo

What's Amaretti biscuit?

• 90g amaretti biscuits
• 250g mascarpone cheese
• 80g icing sugar
• 2 X 284ml tubs low-fact crea, lightly whipped
• 2 large ripe peaches, peeled, stoned and cut in to eight slices
• Clear honey, to serve

1. Line a 2lb loaf tin with clingfilm. Put 30g of the amarettei biscuits into a plastic bag and bash with a rolling pin until finely crushed. Arrange the crushed biscuits over the bottom of the loaf tin.
2. Beat together the mascarpone and icing sugar. Fold in the cream. Add on third of the cream mixture on top of the araretti biscuits in the tin then arrange four peach slices on top. Roughtly crush the reamaining biscuits and scatter halif in between the peach slices.
3. Cover with another third of the cream mixture (making sure there are no gaps), the remaining peach slices and the rest of the crushed biscuits in between. Cover with the last of the cream mixture.
4. Cover with clingfilm and freeze until firm. Remove from the freezer 20 mins before serving. Cut into slices to serve. Dizzle with clear honey!!!
