share dealing

Recently, someone asked me about the benefit of buying share or use this as long term investment. He asked how's the benefit apart from the long term captical grown.

I think, being a shareholder, company should more or less give away some sweet to their investors(people put their money into their company business).

I found those two website is very helpful

When I was reading this, I found one good share "British Airway", although it had been hit since 9/11 and recently terror plot. However, and surprisely, its share grew more than the index.

Also, if you hold 200 share by Nov each year, they will send you five vouchers. Each vouchers enable you 10% discount off the published (includes "world offer") price for the following year.

Information sheet from their website.

Politician and liar

Nowadays, no one trusts a word what politicians said. I deeply understand what this means when I come over to the UK.....until very recently.

Tony Blair had fail to fulfill his election promise, but he never wants to leave.. such as a 恋栈权位.

If a PM keeps telling us lies, that it would be two situations:

1. like the hungrary PM, people trun out the street for a riot.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/5359546.stm

2. like the Thai PM, it would be coup by the military.

Such a "lucky" day, we have two examples happen on the same day...

在伦敦地铁卖艺

刚来英国的时候,觉得在地铁卖艺是一件容易的事情,其实不是:

Busking on the Tube was illegal until London Underground began allowing musicians to perform in stations in 2003. Would-be performers have to fill in an application form and pass an audition.

Waiting lists are up to six months long, but 80 per cent of those who apply are granted licences.

Licensed buskers phone the organisers every other Tuesday to reserve two-hour slots at the pitches of their choice for the following fortnight.

They are allowed three slots a week in the most popular places such as Leicester Square station, and a maximum of six hours a day in total.
